Give your monthly bills a closer look.
A practical checklist for understanding what you pay for.
Start with a recent statement
Write down the full amount, billing period, payment date and service plan. Keep account numbers in your private records.
Separate the charges
Identify the base price, equipment fees, taxes, optional extras and temporary discounts. Check when any promotional rate ends.
Ask before changing
Ask the provider to explain unfamiliar charges. Request the complete price, contract length and cancellation terms in writing before switching plans.
